Terry Edsel Daggett Sr.

Terry Daggett, 88, of Mineral Wells, passed away on September 12, 2026 at WVU Camden Clark Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in his family home on December 7, 1937 in Palestine, WV to the late Floyd Waldo Daggett and Wilma Elizabeth (Dalton) Daggett.

Upon graduating from Wirt County High School in 1956, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1964. He was hired on at DuPont, Washington Works working various departments until retiring in 1996 as a chemical lab technician in the research department.

He maintained a very active life after retirement often snow-birding in Florida, camping with family and friends. He kept busy tinkering around the house often commenting that he was busier than before his retirement. However, he still made time for his family and enjoyed fishing and hunting and following his beloved Wirt County Tigers.

He was a christian by faith and lived his life by his actions, never hesitating to help wherever he could. He leaves behind a legacy that his children can look up to and be proud. He was loved and touched the lives of many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and one grandchild, Jason.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 69 years, Catherine M. (Mullen) Daggett; one brother, Gale Daggett of Mineral Wells; four children, Pam (Dave) Nohe of Vienna, Terry Jr. (Joyce) of Vienna, Melissa (Bob) Haudbarger of Mineral Wells, and Darren of Parkersburg, and several grandchildren: Craig, Adam, Diana, and Ryan, Whitney, and Cassidy; special adopted grandchildren they baby-sat and remained close to through the years, Lindsey and Garrett; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, Septemeber 17, 2026 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., South Parkersburg with a burial at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery in Palestine.
