Tamara “Tammy” Kay Brown, 55, of Belleville, WV, entered her heavenly home with her family by her side on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the OSU James Cancer Center. She was born February 2, 1963, in Parkersburg, a daughter of Robert D. and Lorna K. Baker Burwell. Tammy was a 1981 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a graduate of Marshall University School of Nursing with a BSN Degree. She worked for 18 years for the Wood County Board of Education as a school nurse. She worked over 15 years at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Camden Clark Medical Center Hospital as an Obstetrics nurse. She enjoyed baking, cooking and spending time with family. Tammy was a long time member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church where she was active in the children’s church. She was a faithful Christian and dearly loved the Lord. In addition to her parents, Tammy is survived by her husband of 25 years, Donald L. Brown; two daughters, Katherine E. Brown and Cassandra K. Brown both of Belleville; two sisters, Sandra R. Anderson (Darrell) of Davisville and Kimberly A. Phillips (Michael) of Lewis Center, OH; brother, Thomas E. Burwell (Samantha) of Morgantown, WV; nieces and nephews, Alishia Nolin (Chad), Stephen Anderson, Laura Patterson (Jacob), Jason Phillips, Ashley Chickerella (Vince), Alexander Burwell and Christian Burwell; great-niece, Gwendalyn Nolin; mother in-law, Elaine Cook of Mineral Wells; brother in-laws, Larry Alan Brown and Glenn Edward Brown both of Mineral Wells. Tammy was preceded in death by her father in-law, Paul D. Brown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the South Parkersburg Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Busch and Pastor Rich Blane officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at the church and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her honor to the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 1762, 1620 Park Ave. Parkersburg, WV 26102-1762 to benefit the Tamara K. Brown Memorial Fund. This fund will be used to assist school nurses in their service to children in Wood County Schools. Donations can be made online.
