Suzanne Swearingen

Suzanne Swearingen, 84, of Vienna, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at her residence. She was born August 10, 1933, in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Homer and Vera Powell Wallace. Suzanne was a member of the Junior League and spent many hours volunteering for the various league causes. She was also a long-time volunteer for The March of Dimes, The Parkersburg Day Nursery and The River Hill Garden Club. Suzanne was a member of The First Presbyterian Church and a loving mother and devoted grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Jay Swearingen (Regina) of Sykesville, MD and Chris Swearingen (Christy) of Memphis, TN; one daughter, Kim Hochendoner (Len) of Vienna; five grandchildren, Luke, Audra, Margaux, Rachel and JL; and her brother in-law, Andy F. Swearingen (Laura Jean) of Parkersburg. In addition to her parents, Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Swearingen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at The First Presbyterian Church 1341 Juliana St. Parkersburg, WV 26101 with Reverend Michael R. Seely officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, WV. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society of Parkersburg and the Boys and Girls Club of Parkersburg.
