Geneva Sue Chappell Stables, 94, of Vienna, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Camden Clark Medical Center of congestive heart failure, with her family by her side. She was born February 16, 1924 in Galax, VA, a daughter of the late Bruce and Mattie Chappell. Geneva Sue and her husband, A. Byron, were owners and operators of Vienna Drycleaners since 1950. When she was able she attended The Independent Baptist Church, Vienna, and was a member of the Worthington Ladies Golf Association. She also enjoyed golfing, boating and game shows. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Byron “Buddy” (Judy) Stables of Vienna; and three grandchildren, Ryan McCoy of St. Mary's, WV, Bryan Barker of Little Hocking, OH and Angela Kruger of Vienna, WV. In addition to her parents, Geneva Sue was also preceded in death by her husband, A. Byron Stables; granddaughter, Tracie McCoy; six brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave, Vienna with Pastor Robert May officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Thursday. Geneva and family would like to thank her special caregiver, Cheryl Chambers, for taking wonderful care of her and always being so loving and kind. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the WV Alzheimer's Association, 1218 Market St., Parkersburg, WV.
