Steven L. Brown, 70, of Marietta, OH passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born April 16, 1955 in Marietta, a son of the late Duane R. and Joan I. Martin Brown.
Steve was a 1973 graduate of Marietta High School. He then proudly served in the United States Navy doing crash and rescue and working flight deck. He was retired from Eramet where he held several positions over the years. Steve was president of the United Steele Workers Union Local 1-00639 and that’s where his heart was. He was always willing to fight for people. He took training and attended conferences. He even took a trip to Washington DC and testified before Congress twice, which he was very proud of. He took great pride in taking care of his people and his family. Steve was also an avid Harley rider. He stopped when he couldn’t ride anymore due to oxygen. Steve was a Borderline HOG past officer and Road Captain for many years. He put many miles and many years on Harleys. He held a lot of volunteer positions with the local HOG in Williamstown. Steve just loved adventure. His daughter Natalie recalls memories of her dad actually taking Harleys apart on the dining room table to be cleaned and painted. He took her skydiving for her 16th birthday and taught her how to ride a bike.
Left to carry Steve’s memory include his loving wife, Karen Brown; daughter, Natalie Huggins (Shane); brother, Douglas Brown (Sarah Thomas); his aunt, Judy (Peters Martin) Callender; his fur babies, Fritz, Snoopy, and Chopper; and several cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a nephew, Nathan D. Brown; and his grandmother, Josephine Martin Riley.
In honoring Steve’s wishes, there will be no services at this time as he takes his final ride.
The family asks that condolences, photos, and memories be shared to www.lamberttatman.com.
