Steven Paul Boyd

Steven Paul Boyd, 61, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on Feb. 4, 2016 at his mother's residence. He was born February 2, 1955, in Parkersburg, a son of Esther D. Boyd of Parkersburg and the late Irvin Lee Boyd. Steven was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran having served for six years, from 1972 to 1978. He worked for various construction companies including Phoenix and Associates as a carpenter. He enjoyed the outdoors and going to his families country property. He was a member of the Broadway Harmony Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, Esther Boyd, he is survived by one brother, Jon “Eric” Boyd (Diane) of Parkersburg; and one niece Kortni Boyd (fiancé Paul Wakefield) of Parkersburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. South Parkersburg with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Mineral Wells, W.Va. with full military rites by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. It was Steven's request, that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Humane Society of Parkersburg, P.O. Box 392, Parkersburg, WV 26102 in his memory.
