Stephen Gordon Tribett, 69 of Vincent, Ohio passed away January 6, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Belpre Campus. He was born in Wetzel, County, WV on April 1, 1948 a son of the late Wallace Gordon and Joan Ferguson Tribett. Stephen enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Seabee's during the Viet Nam Conflict and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He then joined the Navy Reserves where he finished his military service career. He was a conductor on the CSX Railroad for 20 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Marietta Ward. He was a member of the Belpre Masonic Lodge #609 where he received his 3rd Degree, a member of the American Legion and member of the NRA. He loved muscle cars and was a member of the Blennerhassett Corvette Club. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elizabeth Rasel Tribett; two sons, Jason Tribett of Belpre and Justin Tribett (Leah) of Parkersburg; two grandsons, Ambrose and Daegan; three sisters, Kitty Sees, Tina Brigman, and Cassie Channel all of South Carolina; one brother, Gayle Tribett of Cottageville, WV. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Richard Tribett. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd. Belpre with Bishop Richard D. Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg with full military honors by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Masonic services by Belpre Masonic Lodge #609 at 7:45 p.m. Stephen lost his sight several years ago, but never allowed that to interfere with his life and was thereby an inspiration to others.
