Stephen William George

Stephen William George, 66, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on Sept. 23, 2015 at his residence.He was born Nov. 3, 1948, in Parkersburg, a son of Marjorie L. Souther George of Davisville, W.Va. and the late William M. George.Steve was a teacher and counselor at Jackson Jr. High School in the late 1970's, served as a Wood County Magistrate in the mid 1980's and was head of the Wood County Adult Probation Program. He enjoyed going to the mountains and spending time with his family.He is survived by his mother, Marjorie George; one sister, Judith (James) Helsel of Lake City, PA; one brother, Gary (Kathy) George of Lancaster, OH; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a nephew, David Nathanial George; and a special aunt, Aretha Floyd.Per Steve's expressed wishes, there will be no visitation or services. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Pike St., South Parkersburg are privileged to serve the George family.
