Shirley L. Wheeler, 88, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Monday, October 16, 2015 at the Willows Center.She was born June 28, 1927, in Richwood, Nicholas County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Edward and Fannie McClung Adkins. Shirley was a 1945 graduate of Richwood High School and a retired hair dresser.She and her husband were longtime members of the St. John's United Methodist Church. She is survived by her niece, Rebecca Adkins Stowers of St. Albans, W.Va.; three nephews, J. Michael Adkins of Charleston, W.Va., Donald Patrick Adkins of Ona, W.Va., and Gary F. Adkins of Hurricane, W.Va.; and five great-nephews, Ronald Dustin Stowers of St. Albans, W.Va., Jonathan Caleb Adkins of Pennsylvania, Mike Adkins, II of Greenville, N.C., and Charles E. Adkins of Clayton, N.C., C. Gregory Adkins of Austin, Texas; one great-great niece, Maddie Adkins; and a great-great nephew, Trey Adkins both of Greenville, N.C.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Wheeler; two brothers, James E. and Donald H. Adkins; and one nephew, Jonathan Edward Adkins.A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 with Rev. Norman Butler officating at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, W.Va., with burial to follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
