There is a video tribute to Shirley available on this website.Shirley LaVaughn Reed, 78, of Parkersburg, W.Va. went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center.She was born November 29, 1936, in Tanner, W.Va., a daughter of Mary Bush Engle of Parkersburg and the late Edwin B. Engle.Shirley retired from Public Debt and enjoyed reading, writing and spending time with her family. She loved watching all sports especially baseball. In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling. She was a member of Cornerstone Gospel Church in Vienna, W.Va.She is survived by her mother, Mary Engle; her daughter, Terri Bernhoft (Mark) of Davisville, W.Va.; two sisters, Janell Brown (Larry) of Parkersburg and Donna Hall of York, S.C.; one granddaughter, Kristi Thomas (Phil) of Sparksburg, S.C.; a special friend, Don Ewing of Vienna, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Reed; two grandsons, Matthew and Joel Bernhoft; and her brother-in-law, Larry Hall.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., South Parkersburg with Pastors Lloyd Keith and Kevin Lantz officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Mausoleum.Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.Friday and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the funeral home.Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
