Shirley Ann Phillips, 78, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on August 18, 2016 at her residence. She was born October 6, 1937, in Charleston, W.Va. a daughter of the late Rev. Scolly and Marie Fain Byers. Shirley was a homemaker and once worked for Jean Grapes Real Estate Agency She enjoyed knitting, painting, camping, card games, fishing and was an avid snow bird and was a member of the Taylor Creek Resort RV park in Okeechobee, Florida quilting club. She was a Baptist by faith. She is survived by her three sons, Richard Phillips of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Danny Phillips (JoEllen) of Parkersburg and Berry Phillips (Sonja) of Hurricane, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Tanya, Arron, Lora, Jennifer, Keya, Katelyn and Lena; five great-grandchildren, one sister, Margie F. (Matthew “Preach”) Carte; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carless G. Phillips; and two sisters, Barbara Beaver and Dorothy DeGraw. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm. on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. south Parkersburg. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
