Shirley A. Nutter, 68 of Lubeck, W.Va. passed away March 19, 2011 at the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.Shirley was born February 6, 1943 in Miami, FL., daughter of the late Willis C Leonard (1997) and Ethel (Hull) Leonard (2008). Her mother was a proud Florida native.Shirley was a 1961 graduate of North Miami Sr. High School, Miami, FL. She then went to Nashville, TN to attend Trevecca Nazarene College, after 2 years she moved to Parkersburg, W.Va. She worked at Dil's Dept. Store from Dec. 1963 to the summer of 1964. She then was employed by the Bureau of the Public Debt for almost 30 years. Shirley was a long standing member of Broadway Church of the Nazarene, where over the years she was Missionary President, Sunday School Treasurer and a member of the choir. After retirement she had a dream come true by taking care of her one and only granddaughter for 10 years. That was the best time of her life. Shirley is survived by two sons, David W. Nutter and Darrin W. Nutter; one daughter, Sherri A. Francis (Rick); one granddaughter, Kaitlin N. Francis. The one that made her get up everyday knowing they would have so much fun. When Shirley first moved to Parkersburg, two families in her church, Dean and Jo Stoneking and Ed (decd.) and Robbie Hill, adopted her family with their families. They were the best friends she ever had. In the hospital or at home sick they were there, they had the biggest and best Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter dinners. They were treasured friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles R. Leonard, Miami, FL.; and maternal grandparents, William A. and Aline Hull of Miami, FL.Her family will receive visitors Wednesday, March 23, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. Funeral services will be at Broadway Church of the Nazarene on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Hines officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Her family would like to thank the staff of 1W, CCU, Operating Room and PACU of Camden Clark for the excellent care of their mother. And a special thank you to the physicians that cared for her. Our mother rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
