Shirley Lorraine Mace, 66, of Parkersburg, passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2017 at Ruby Memorial, Morgantown, WV. She was born October 4, 1950, in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late James and Edna Brown Newcomer. Shirley was a 1968 graduate of Parkersburg South High School. She was active in the choir, a graduate of Mountain State College with a degree in Clerical. She worked at Walker /Parkersburg and Action Answering Service. She faithfully attended for over thirty years at the Grace Gospel Church where she sang in the choir. An avid Civil War enthusiast. A supporter of the Parkersburg South band loved reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of forty two years, Dwight Mace; two daughters, Melissa Mace Johnson of Mather, PA; grandchildren, Kyle and Abigail Woods; Carrie Derenberger (Troy) of Mineral Wells, WV; grandchildren, Tori, Cami, Trent and Calli Derenberger; two sons, Mark Mace of Parkersburg; grandchild, Marinda Mace; Patrick Mace (Andrea) of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Nicholas and Brooke Mace; one brother, Leonard Newcomer of Parkersburg; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn and her son, Larry Eugene (Gene) Dennewitz. Funeral service will be held at 2: 00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Roger Benson officiating. Interment will follow at Big Tygart Cemetery, Rockport, WV. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
