Shirley Louise Cooper, 80, of Parkersburg, W.Va., entered her heavenly home on October 27, 2016. The devotion of her family and her firm belief in God supported her during her illness and ultimately gave her peace. She was born September 20, 1936 in McFarland, W.Va., the daughter of the late K.W. “Buss” and Dessie Haught Fox. Shirley graduated from Ritchie County High School and married her high school sweetheart in 1953. She was blessed with a loving family and for several years was a homemaker, later she worked at St. Joseph's Hospital as a CNA for 26 years. She was an active member of Bible Baptist Church for over 55 years. Her church played a major role in her life. Shirley is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dennis D. Cooper; her daughter, Judy Eggleton (Rick) of Bidwell, Ohio; her son, Steve Cooper of McFarland; her daughter-in-law, Karen Cooper of Leachtown, W.Va.; sisters, Patty Baker (Ray) of Washington Bottom, W.Va. and Karen Mathers (David) of Parkersburg; eight grandchildren, Chad Kimball, Jeff Kimball, Dyanna Elliott, Ryan Eggleton, Serena Bowers, Devin Cooper, Adam Cooper, and Daniel Cooper; and three great-grandchildren, Mason Kimball, Hailey Kimball, and Cooper Elliott. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Mike Cooper; a daughter-in-law, Martha Hardbarger Cooper; and two sisters, Leona Mills and Alice Snider. Services for Shirley will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 31, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Pastor Dan Stephens officiating. Burial will follow the service at K of P Cemetery, Elizabeth, W.Va. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to Bible Baptist Church, 4100 Cypress St., Parkersburg, WV 26101 in memory of Shirley.
