Sheridan Bruce Douglas

Sheridan Bruce Douglas, 78, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away peacefully September 28, 2026, at his residence.

Son of the late Blake and Grace Douglas, Bruce was born February 22, 1948, in Parkersburg, WV. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he developed a strong sense of duty and camaraderie that he carried with him throughout his life. After his military service, Bruce dedicated his career to O'Ames, where he worked diligently as a supervisor until his retirement.

Bruce was a man of integrity and kindness, known for his unwavering dedication to his family and his community. He enjoyed collecting old clocks, loved his old coins and guns, and telling old stories to make people laugh. But above all, he loved his grandchildren and family more than anything. A devoted Christian, he was an honorary board member for his church for 17 years. He was a true believer in Jesus and his faith in God was the foundation he built his life on, and never failed to ensure his family followed Jesus too.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith A. Douglas, and his brother, Michael H. Douglas.

He is survived by his son, Sheridan "Bruce" Douglas II (Casi); brother, Keith B. Douglas (Judy); grandsons, Sheridan Bruce Douglas III (Paige) and Zachary Michael Douglas (Emily); and four great-grandchildren.

A private cremation will take place and a memorial service to celebrate Bruce's life will be held at The Cross Church on October 4, 2026 at 1:00 PM.

Bruce's legacy of love, service, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
