She was born on November 3, 1938, and was raised in Parkersburg, WV. She moved to Mobile, AL on May 5, 2003, and was a resident of Allen Memorial Home in Mobile since November 2008.From the age of five, she was an active and involved member of Beechwood Presbyterian Church. Serving as Sunday School teacher, deacon, elder, and President of the Women's Auxiliary; she was also instrumental in starting the very successful Souper Saturday Program, Red Cross Blood Drives and other successful programs there.She owned and operated Aunt Shelbia's Day Nursery for ten years and even though she never had children of her own, she helped raise many children in her family, as well as through work in her business and her church. Among these were her devoted nieces Cami(Steven) Faist, Lisa (Hugh) Byrd, and Traci (Glenn) Davidson.Preceding her in death were her parents: Carl L. and Ethel Amanda (Faye) Dailey, her paternal and maternal grandparents, sister Joy Dailey Miller, and infant sister Janet Sue Dailey. Survivors include her sister Donna (Charles) Cross, brothers Larry Dailey, and Gary (Rebecca) Dailey, and numerous nieces and nephews, many great and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as many special friends.Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday , August 10th at the Beechwood Presbyterian Church with burial in Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening from 5-9pm at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue in Vienna and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.Gilmers Funeral Service in Mobile, AL and Lambert-Tatman of Vienna ,WV worked together with the final arrangements.
