Sharlotte Sue Somerville, 80, of Parkersburg, a loving soul, went to be with her husband in heaven on Monday, March 5, 2018 from Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born June 6, 1937, in Avon, WV, a daughter of the late James B. and Zelma V. Davis Gum. Sue was a very loving wife, mother and mam. A 1955 graduate of Doddridge County High School, she was a member of the Bull Dog Marching Band. Sue was a homemaker and decorated cakes in her part-time, she worked for Yonkers as a seamstress, Nashua Photo and was also a caregiver for her family and friends. She was a member of the Parkersburg Woman’s Club, PTA and the United Methodist Church. Sue was an avid bingo player, enjoyed toll painting, crocheting, quilting and fishing at the Outer Banks with her husband. She is survived by her five children, Cathy (Steve) Ahart of Belpre, OH, Brian Somerville of Parkersburg, Lauren (Paul) Bishop of Pennsylvania, Beth (Blaine) Minney of Parkersburg and Janet (Paul) Guerra of Florida; one brother, Thomas Michael (Nancy) Gum of North Carolina; she was known as Mam to her grandchildren, James, Abby, Alivia, Stephanie, Kaitlyn, Cody, Nickolas, Alexandria, Meriah and Austin; eight great-grandchildren, Colton, Max, Callie, Seth, Coral, Leroy, Reed and Harper; along with a host of other relatives and special friends. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Lee Somerville; four sisters, Barbara Jean, Hettie, Blairann and Lou; and two brothers, Bill and Dave. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor David Cumpston officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Friday. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Marietta Memorial, CAMC Memorial Division, Camden Clark Medical Center and Amedysis Hospice.
