Sarah Ruth Best

Sarah Ruth Cody Best age 96 of Belpre, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Worthington Healthcare Center. She was born September 17, 1921 in Waterford, Ohio, a daughter of the late William F. and Ida L. Rose Cody. Sarah was retired from the Wood County Board of Education where she worked in bookkeeping and she will be sadly missed by her family. She was a member of the Rockland United Methodist Church. Sarah is survived by her son, Reggie Best of Belpre and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Greg Best; two brothers, Therald and John Cody; and three sisters, Rose Ruble, Evelyn Frye and Eloise Pinkerton. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Belpre with Pastor Jim Condrey officiating. Interment will follow at the Rockland Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
