Sanford William “Bill” Cox, 76, of Parkersburg, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born September 9, 1941, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Sanford Wilson Cox and Letha Hively Nufher. Bill was a 1959 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He was a U.S. Airforce Veteran and he retired from E. I. DuPont after 32 years of service. Bill enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He looked forward to the weekly trip to Taco Bell and Sweet Frog with his grandchildren, Kyle and Kelsey. Bill was also a faithful member of the Landmark Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Cathryn Hardman Cox; his five children, Sandra Weis of California, Keith A. Melton (Angie) of Wisconsin, Mark A. Cox of Tennessee, Christopher P. Cox (Teri) of Washington, WV and David A. Cox of Parkersburg; three siblings, Glen M. Cox (Peggy) of Orlando, FL, Oneta A. Sprigg (Jim) of Lubeck and Linda D. Cox of Parkersburg; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, James E. Cox and sister, Delores E. Roush. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Michael Lamb officiating. Entombment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. F. G. Powderly, Dr. Gondalia and Dr. Vasick for their love and care given to Bill.
