Sandra Kay Steele

Sandra Steele, a beloved member of the Waverly community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on a warm Saturday, July 9, 1949, Sandra lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family and friends.

Sandra was the daughter of late William Mace Sr. and Pauline Stephens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry SteeleSr.; grandson, Hunter Owens; and sister, Wendy Oliver.

Her memory will be carried in the hearts of her loved ones, including daughters, Tonya Owens (Franklin), Cindy Moore (Jim); son, Harry Steele Jr. (Sherry McCullough); sisters, Nancy Weaver, Karen Collins, and Sue Rudy; brothers, William “Bill" Mace, Jim Pyles, and Dave Pyles; grandchildren, Jay Moore, Kyle Moore, Kaylee Owens, Koby Steele, Kammi Steele, and Brandy Myers; 5 great-grandchildren; and Thor, her beloved Chihuahua.

Sandra was a cherished resident of Waverly, West Virginia, where she spent many years contributing to the warmth and spirit of the community. Known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering strength, she touched the lives of many with her gentle spirit and compassionate heart.

She was a devoted Christian and member of the Celebration Center in St. Mary's WV until it closed down. Some of her favorite things were Angels, Lighthouses and spending time with people. She deeply loved her family, especially her grandkids.

A Celebration of Life will be held September 14, 2026 at Waverly Church of Christ diningroom from 2:00 - 7:00 PM.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HSOP, Veterans Association, or to the family to help with final expenses.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna, WV.
