Sandra Kay Scott, 52, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away at her home on August 3, 2015 following a courageous five year battle with cancer. During her life, she enjoyed outdoor activities, cruising back roads, country music, cooking and spending time with friends and family. The last few years she enjoyed playing Bingo on Facebook with friends around the world and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Sandy was an animal lover and leaves behind her fur babies Reba, Jack and Cleo.She is survived by former husband, Doug Dunbar; two daughters, Diana Slusher and Crystal Montgomery; grandchildren, Arianna, Gavin and Brady Williams, Blake, Skyler, Natalie and Nathan Montgomery; siblings, Cathy Smith, Tim Scott, Wesley Scott, Earlene Blair and “Bill” Scott III.Sandy is preceded in death by her son, Brian Williams; parents, Earlene Louise Martin and William Rufus Scott II; former husband, Gene Williams Sr.; aunts, Alberta “Bertie” Weber & Gerri Cummings; nephew, Derek Scott; and brother, Steve Adkins.“Cancer affects us all, whether you're a daughter, mother, sister, friend, coworker, doctor, patient.” -Jennifer Aniston. Sandy was a fighter and never lost her will to live. Gratitude goes to all those involved in her care with special thanks to her siblings Cathy, Earlene and Wesley, Dr. James Luketich of Pittsburgh, Pa., Dr. Roman Petrov of Marietta Ohio, Dr. Nik Shah of Parkersburg, Morgan Smith, Amy Jones and Angie Wood of Amedisys Hospice for getting us through the hardest times of all. A memorial will be held in Parkersburg at Homeland Community Church with Pastor Brady Stephens officiating.In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the church.
