Sandra Kay Fury, 77, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 14, 1942 in Wood County, WV, a daughter of the late Gordon David McVey and Eula Irene Evans Lockhart. Sandra had previously worked for Western Electric in Illinois and as a property manager in the Parkersburg area. She was a published author – winning several awards for her poetry, was an artist and enjoyed teaching everyone about Jesus. Sandra loved singing and playing the piano, and was a member of the Calvary Mission Church. She is survived by her children, Brenita Kay Holberton of Harrisville, WV, Kimberly Denise Didlake of Parkersburg, Curtiss Todd Fury (Pamela) of Norwalk, Iowa and Michelle Lynn Davis (John) of Parkersburg; Jack Fury, father of her children; brothers and sisters, William “Bill” McVey, Nancy Haislep, Terry, Larry and Barry McVey; grandchildren, Christopher, Jordan, Heather, Tiffaney, Chase, Ashley, Serena, and Sierra; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Fury; infant son, Richard Fury; granddaughter, Morgan Didlake and one sister, Marsha Haislep. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg. Burial will follow at the Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
