Sandra Annette Burkhart

Sandra Annette Gabbart Burkhart age 83, of Rockport, WV passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the Elizabeth Care Center. She was born September 12, 1941 at Slate Creek, WV, a daughter of the late Leonard S. and Laura Springett Gabbart. Sandra loved sewing, spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed going to trapping events with her husband Clair.

She is survived by her children, Allen Burkhart, Jr (Amy) of Rockport, Elaine Richardson (Jeff Wilson) of Belpre, Chris Wigal (Gary) of Elizabeth, Mary Clark (Ron) of Rockport and Marie Huffman (Derek) of Belleville; one brother, Kelsie Gabbart (Becky); three sisters, Cyndi McElfresh, Alice Holbert and Jane Ball; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Allen “Clair” Burkhart, Sr; three brothers, Leonard “Sonny” Gabbart, Robert Gabbart and Arwin “Bud” Gabbart and two sisters, Velma Werkmeister and infant sister, Lynette.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. Interment will follow at the Limestone Cemetery, Rockport. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Elizabeth Care Center and Housecalls Hospice Center for all of the love and care that was given to Sandra.
