Samuel “Sam” Joseph Ware, II, 55, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away at his home with his loving family by his side on Friday, September 23, 2016. He was born on September 23, 1961 in Clarksburg, W.Va., a son of Santina Ware and the late Samuel Ware. He was a graduate of Parkersburg South High School and West Virginia University School of Engineering. He was employed as a Civil Engineer with the United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resource Conservation Service for 33 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Katrina (Morehead) Ware and children, Michael (Brittany) Ware, Jason (Mercedes) Ware and Kayla Ware and fiancé, Matt Emerick, all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and three grandchildren, Carter Ware, Lyla Ware and Laurel Ware. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and loved his family more than anything. In addition to his mother, he is also survived by two sisters, Cathy Ware and Lisa (Andy) Border; mother-in-law, Ruth Morehead; brother-in-law, Tim (Terry) Morehead; sister- in-law, Regina (Tom) Scarborough; nephews, Dustin Morehead and Dalton Border; and nieces, Ashley Nguyen, Rachel Nguyen and Samantha Border. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Ware; brother, Michael Ware; and father-in-law, Robert Morehead. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a past board member of the Parkersburg Art Center and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching WVU sports, Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, doing projects around the house and working outside, but most of all, spending time with his family. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the entire staff at the James Cancer Center, the staff of Amedisys Hospice Care and to all our family, friends, and neighbors. Visitation will be on Monday, September 26, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, South Parkersburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, performed by Father John Rice. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery.
