Samuel Junior Riel

Samuel J. Riel, 86 of Belpre, Ohio passed away March 12, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born November 17, 1931, in Washington, West Virginia, a son of the late Samuel D. and Emma O. Williams Riel. Samuel was a stationary engineer with American Municipal Power, retiring after twenty years of service. He was a fan of Ohio State sports and had an interest in real estate. Samuel served in the Marine Air Corps during the Korean Conflict and attended services at the Celebration Center. He is survived by his daughter, Victoria Wolfe of Beverly, Ohio and his son John Riel (Cheryl) of Parkersburg, West Virginia. In addition to his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by his wife Eloise Riel, a sister Retha Snyder, and two brothers Thomas and James Riel. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, Ohio. Burial will follow at the Torch Baptist Cemetery, Torch, Ohio. Visitation will be Thursday 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
