Samuel Porter Braniff

Samuel Porter Braniff III of Parkersburg passed away Feb. 7, 2017 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born Nov. 26, 1947 in Jackson County, W.Va., a son of the late Samuel P. Braniff II and Betty McPherson Braniff. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Wood County School Board after 40 years of service. Samuel is survived by his wife, Connie Dowler Braniff; a daughter, Lisa Lattea of Parkersburg; three sons, Sam (Carrie) Braniff IV of Elizabeth, W.Va., Chris (Tammy) Braniff of Mineral Wells, W.Va. and Eric (Eva) Braniff of Parkersburg; two sisters, Louise Hickman of Woodsfield, OH and Jean Robinson of Belpre; a brother, Mike Braniff of Parkersburg; and seven grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg with Pastor Randy Dornan officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
