Ruth B. VanWay Busch, 87, of Parkersburg, passed away January 31, 2015 at Cedar Grove Assisted Living.She was born March 28, 1927, in Marietta, Ohio, a daughter of the late Melvin D. and Helen Ogg VanWay. Ruth was a 1945 graduate of Parkersburg High School who worked at Park Schooland Mullen Motorsbefore becoming a home-maker who volunteered tirelessly as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, visitor to shut-ins, exercise instructor to seniors, tax counselor, mentor and friend to so many in Belmont, Summersville and Parkersburg. She also adored her time volunteering with Camden Clark Hospital Auxiliary Guest Relations.Ruth was a member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church where she had been a member of Soul Sisters.She is survived by five children, Anita Maxwell (Larry) of Parkersburg, Joseph N. Busch II (Gloria) of Parkersburg, Andrew Busch (Lillian) of Midwest City, OK, Amy Busch (Barry McVey) of Parkersburg and Abby Dunbar (Jeff) of Norfolk, VA; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Neil; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph N. Busch in 2008; and two brothers, Carroll and Jerry VanWay.The Busch family would like to thank Cedar Grove Assisted Living for their care and kindness.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., South Parkersburg with Pastor Ed Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.The family requests that donations be sent to Women's Care Center, 2104 Dudley AvenueParkersburg, WV, the South Parkersburg Baptist Church Building Fund, 1655 Blizzard Dr., Parkersburg, WV, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
