Ruelene Smith, 93, of Parkersburg passed away on January 28, 2025. She was born May 29, 1931 in Morocco, Indiana a daughter of the late Rueal B. and Helen R. Latshaw Tate.
She attended business college and retired as a medical transcriptionist at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She enjoyed cross-stitch, cooking, winters in Florida, and square-dancing. She was a Methodist by faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Lovelace (Colonel Guy Lovelace, U.S. Army retired) of Lacey’s Spring, AL and Gayle Johnson of Raleigh, NC; one son, Greg B. Johnson (Mary) of League City, TX; a sister, Betty of Peru, IN; grandchildren, Stacey Anne Boggs (Jason Flynn) of St. Paul, MN and Kimberly Johnson (Jeff) of Spring, TX; and one great-grandson who loved her very much, Rhone Flynn.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Kermit C. Smith.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2025 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Pastor Don Yeager officiating.
