Rowenna S. Richards, 72, of Parkersburg, passed away on April 7, 2024 at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh. She was born October 7, 1952 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Gloria White Cox Rodgers and James Cox and Walter Rodgers.
She devoted many years of her life to the Camden Clark Medical Center ER as a patient care tech where she made a lot of lifelong friends and loved every minute of it.
Rowenna was a devoted mom and nannie, and the lights of her life were all of her grand and great-grandchildren. Her beloved dogs, Maxwell and Grady, held a special place in her heart.
Rowenna is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dyton Richards; daughters, Crissy Cottrille (Jason) and Melissa Richards (Shawn); brothers, Mark Allman (Vickie), Daniel Cox, and Phillip Cox; grandkids, Tylor Cottrille (Lauren), Dereck Cottrille (Harley), Brayden Richards, and Janson Cottrille (Bailey); and great-grandchildren, Maddie, Cole, Maddox, NovaLee, Arlo, Perseus, and Adaline.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant sibling; and brothers, Dennis and Larry Cox.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be from 2-3 PM Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm to give friends and family a chance to share stories on Rowenna’s life. There will be a dinner following the service at the VFW 1212 located on Garfield Ave. Parkersburg.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to the Parkersburg Humane Society. 530 29th Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
