Rowene D. Dean, 85 of Williamstown, WV passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, August 12, 2024 at the Belmont Healthcare Center.
She was born February 16, 1939 in Noblestown, PA, a daughter of the late George and Francis Armstrong Cameron. Rowene retired from the Wood County Board of Education, having worked at the Williamstown Elementary School as a Kindergarten Teacher aide. She was a lifetime member of the Williamstown Legion Auxiliary and a member of TOPS OH 0399.
Rowene is survived by her two children, J.L. Dean (Debbie) of Williamstown and LeAnn Hendershot of Lowell, OH; two brothers, Joe Cameron (Peggy) of Granville, OH and Dan Armstrong of Tryon, NC; grandchildren, Kent Dean (Marie), Charity Dotson (Tim), Andrea Hendershot (Nate), Emily Kelley (Jake), Danielle Metheney and Bryce Joy and great-grandchildren, Hope Pickens, Emalynn DeLong, Olyvia Dotson, Lucy Kelley, Easton, Cason and Hensley Metheney and Cameron Michael Kelley due in December.
In addition to her parents, Rowene was preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis Dean on January 17, 2016; her son-in-law, Mike Hendershot and sister-in-law, Sharon Armstrong.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna with Pastor Scott Morehead officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm- 2:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. The burial will be private family only.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Williamstown Volunteer Fire Co, 411 W. 5th Street, Williamstown, WV 26187 and TOPS OH 0399, c/o Sharon Lane, P.O. Box 11, Vincent, OH 45784, in memory of Rowene.
