Rose Marie Woodyard, 87, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away Tuesday evening, December 13, 2016 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Belpre Campus after a short illness. Rose Marie was born June 16, 1929, in Left Hand, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Lela Jarvis Conley and Creed Conley. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Orlando “Woody” Woodyard, whom she married on December 3, 1950. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas M. Conley and nephew, John K. Conley. Rose Marie graduated from Spencer High School in 1947 and went to Mountain State Business College where she met Woody. She worked for DuPont for almost 20 years. She was a member of Vienna Baptist Church where she served on many boards and committees throughout the years. She loved nature, birds and animals. She is survived by her daughter, whom she loved immeasurably, Debra Shively of Belpre; her son-in-law, John H. Shively, Jr.; and her beloved grand-dog, Callie. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her sister, Goldie Whiting of Left Hand, W.Va.; and nieces, Sandra Jones of Jeremiah, KY and “Peach” Murphy of Left Hand. In addition to family members, Rosie was loved by all who came in contact with her. She was a pleasant and gracious person who always looks for the best in life's circumstances. She will be missed by so many. There will be a celebration of Rose's life at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Vienna Baptist Church, Grand Central Ave. Vienna, WV 26105, with Pastor Bill Brown officiating. Family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service Saturday at the church. There will be no graveside services. She will rest beside Woody at the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg. In lieu of flowers, Rose Marie would request remembering her with a donation to Vienna Baptist Church or The Humane Society of Parkersburg.
