Date and Time of Service: Thurs., Oct. 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. – South Parkersburg Baptist Churchposted 10/26/2010 at 12:13:20 PMRosa Lee Hardman (Stump) Stanley, 66, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital on October 25, 2010.She was born on May 13, 1944, in Gilmer County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Walker and Dorothy (Putnam) Hardman. She was a 1962 graduate of Normantown High School.She was an active member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church and the BYKOTA Sunday School class. She has served on the search committee, chairman of the funeral dinners and many other committees. She has been a member of the Gihon School PTA where she was awarded a Lifetime membership in the WV, PTA. Her volunteering in the community through the South Parkersburg Jaycee-ettes awarded her many awards including the highest of all, The Lifetime Membership in the WV Jaycee-ettes. Her greatest joy was hosting family and friends in her home. The love of her life was her grandchildren and she valued all the time she spent with them.On February 25, 1963 she was united in marriage to Carl M. Stump, who preceded her in death May 1, 1995. Surviving are their three children and four grandchildren; Rita Marie Daley (Hank) and her son, Jordan Lowers; Michael “Mick” Stump and his son, Sean; Vicki Lynn Kupfner (Eddie) and their children, Lindsey and Austin, all of Parkersburg, W.Va.On September 19, 1998, she married Harold Stanley, who survives her, and added to her family, his family; son, Phillip Stanley (Jackie), their twins, Chelsey and Chloe of Proctorville, Ohio; daughter, Sandra Webb (Bruce) and their daughters, Casey, all of League City, Tex., and Elise Lyons (Brad) of Hurricane, W.Va.She is also survived by two brothers; Edwin Hardman (Connie) of St. Leonard, Md., and Charles Hardman (Bonnie) of Glen Burnie, Md.; four sisters, Elsie McMurrey of Painesville, Ohio, Emalene Moss (Donnie) of Vienna, W.Va., Mary Jones of Gassaway, W.Va., and Charlene Cox (Bill) of Parkersburg.In addition to her parents and husband, Carl, she was preceded in death by one sister, Elma Wallace (Chuck) of Mentor, Ohio.Funeral services will be conducted on 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the South Parkersburg Baptist Church with Pastors Joe Busch and Ed Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins Cemetery, Stumptown, WV.The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, at the South Parkersburg Baptist Church, 1655 Blizzard Dr., south Parkersburg and one hour prior to the service at the church.
