Ronald "Ron" V Stoops

Ronald V. “Ron” Stoops, 80, of Parkersburg passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at WVU Medical Center, Morgantown. He was born December 19, 1938, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Carlton and Ethel Roberts Stoops. Ron was retired with Wood County Board of Education. He enjoyed sports and was a member of the Red Hill United Methodist Church. Ron is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathryn “Kay” Miller Stoops; his brother, Monzell Stoops (Violet) of Parkersburg; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Stoops. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Mary Zimmer officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation, to the Ronald and Kathryn Stoops Fund, P.O. Box 1762, Parkersburg, WV 26102 or to the Red Hill United Methodist Church, 114 Red Hill Church Rd. Parkersburg, WV 26104, in memory of Ron.
