Ronald Francis Sury

Ronald Francis Sury, 68 of Parkersburg passed away Feb. 5, 2016 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born on April 16, 1947 in Hammond, IN, son of the late Frank and Eldora Jansen Sury. He attended Setan Central High School graduating in the class of 1966 and later attended Indiana Institute of Technology in South Bend, Indiana. He taught welding and retired from Pipefitter's Local 565 where he was a long standing member. He was a very artistic person creating pen and ink drawings and macramé and was an avid chess player with eclectic taste in music. Ron enjoyed astrology and his biggest passion was his motorcycle and “Dancing In The Wind”. He was involved in ABATE and Patriot Guard Riders of WV and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He is survived by two daughters, Heather Chichester (Scott) of Parkersburg and Stephanie Cotterman (Matt) of Bozeman, MT; a sister, Mary Jane Phillips of Marietta; and several grandchildren and nieces. In addition to his parents Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Suzi) Leonard-Sury. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family.
