Date and Time of Service: Sat., Oct. 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. – Southposted 10/18/2010 at 3:00:12 PMRonald Wayne Gorsky, 67, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., left this earth in the early morning hours on Oct. 17, 2010, following a brief illness. He died at home surrounded by his wife and children.He was born August 30, 1943, in Parsons, W.Va., a son of the late Henry and Joy West Gorsky.Ronald grew up in Charleston, W.Va. He married his wife of 47 years, Jeannie Epler Gorsky on October 4, 1963. He served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal. He was employed for many years at Walker Parkersburg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding and four-wheel riding.In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Kristi Holbert of Washington, W.Va., Missi Barr (Pat) of Washington, W.Va., and Judd Gorsky of Mineral Wells; his brother, Jim Gorsky (Sandi) of Charleston; and two sisters, Fay Thorne of Vienna, W.Va. and Henri Pauley (Wayne) of Cross Lanes, W.Va. He loved his six grandchildren, Nicholas and Colt Holbert, Kari Barr, Judson Gorsky, Joshua Lattea, and Jeremy Barker. He also had a special cat and faithful companion, Bob; and numerous friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved grandparents, Walter and Lottie Gorsky.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. There will be a luncheon following the memorial service in the Family Center at the funeral home.
