Rolla R. Daugherty

Rolla R. Daugherty, 95, of Lubeck, WV passed away January 12, 2018 surrounded by family at his residence. He was born in Palestine, WV, September 2, 1922 a son of the late Oliver and Ercil Sheppard Daugherty. In addition to his parents, Rolla was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Crabb Daugherty; three sisters, Bea Sutherland, Lucille Bryant, and Marjorie Batton; and one daughter, Judith Eileen Miller. He is survived by his brother, Ralph Daugherty of Oneida, TN; four daughters, Judy E. Sweet of Hot Springs, SD, Karen E. Matheny of Washington, WV, Sue E. Mollohan (Ron) of North Canton, OH, and Jennifer L. Eaton (Greg) of Belleville, WV; and two sons, Ronald R. Daugherty (Karen) of Splendora, TX and Mark A. Daugherty (Debbie) of New Caney, TX. He was blessed with fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and his special friend Anna Eleanor Wilcox, who lovingly cared for him. Rolla served in the US Navy during WWII. He was retired from Corning Glass Works and enjoyed square dancing, gardening, and woodworking. He was a charter member of PMBS Volunteer Fire Department and a longtime member of South Parkersburg United Methodist Church. The family would like to also thank Amedysis Home Health/Hospice for their care, support, and guidance. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, Parkersburg. Interment will follow with full military rites by American Legion Post 15 Parkersburg at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
