Roger Lee Rose

Roger Lee Rose, 71, of Parkersburg, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018 at his residence. He was born January 14, 1947, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Ray Rose and Mildred Ball Rose Mixer. Roger was a U.S. Veteran of the Marine Corp and served two tours in Vietnam. He enjoyed hunting, was a gun smith and a member of the NRA. He is survived by his wife, Wonetta Barker Rose; one daughter, Patricia Rose of Tennessee; one son, Roger Lee Rose Jr. (Clara) of Tennessee; three step sons, Ronald Fluharty (Karen) of Clarksburg, Christopher Fluharty (Renee) of Florida and David Miller of Parkersburg; two step daughters, Diane Jones (Homer) of North Carolina and Gladys Dennis (Jerry) of Parkersburg; two brothers, Michael Rose and James Rose (Mary) both of Ohio; four sisters, Deborah Rose, Sharon Sargent, Catherine Rose and Sarah Cowan (Bob) all of Ohio; step mother, Jean Rose; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his grandson, Sydney Rose. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm. on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg where military rights will be conducted by the American Legion Post #15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 12-2 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers family request that donations may be made to the Parkersburg American Legion 2505 Ohio Ave. Parkersburg, WV 26101.
