Roger C. Emerick

Roger Clair Emerick, 77, of Parkersburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born March 11, 1940, in Wood County, WV, son of the late Charles Clair and Jeannette James Emerick. Roger was a 1958 graduate of Parkersburg High School and also attended Marietta College. He retired in 1998 from GE Plastics after 30 years of service as a Chemical Operator. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Vienna, a former member of Kiwanis Club of North Parkersburg and Kiwanis Club of Fort Neal. Roger served several positions in Kiwanis, President, Lt. Governor Division 2 and served on several committees. As a Kiwanian, he worked the gates at the Big Red home games. He was a presenter of Terrific Kids award at several schools. Roger volunteered for the Parkersburg Fishing Derby, Parkersburg Safetytown and received a George F. Hixon honor in Kiwanis. Served his country in the 1092 National Guard. He was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1967 where he served as an usher, assistant Sunday School Superintendent and was on various committees. And was also a member of Crusade Class. Roger is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anita Stallings Emerick; daughter, Brenda Emerick of Parkersburg; son, Mark E. Emerick of Parkersburg; sister, Bobbie (James) Quinn of Pinellas Park, FL; sister in-law, Donna Lyons of Parkersburg and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Reverend Michael Daniels officiating. Interment will follow at Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home and an hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church 2406 10th Ave. Parkersburg, WV. 26101.
