Rodney "Poppers" Darrell Kirby

Rodney Darrell “Poppers” Kirby, 68, of Vienna, was welcomed into Heaven on Sunday, August 18, 2019, from Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born April 9, 1951 in Parkersburg, the son of the late Charles L. and Nora Maxine (Stewart) Kirby. Poppers was a graduate of Parkersburg High School with the class of 1969. He was a retail manager at Heck’s Department Store. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed fishing and camping. He enjoyed Hot Rods especially his 1966 Ford Fairlane and 1984 Ranger. Poppers was kind to everyone and would give you the shirt off of his back. He is survived by three sons, Rod (Christina) Kirby II, of Parkersburg, Matt Kirby and Aaron (Angie) Kirby both of Vienna; a sister, Sharon Ball of Vienna; grandchildren, Dwight (Harley) Kirby, Ronald Kirby, Dustin Kirby, Matthew Kirby, Tyler Tebay, Shannon Wright, Angel Kirby and Abby Kirby; great-grandchildren, Zoey Kirby and Oliver Kirby; and the mother of his children, Sheila Gates of Vienna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Kirby and an infant sister, Carolyn Kirby. Funeral services for Poppers will be at 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Crematory of Vienna, with his nephew Scott Kirby officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
