Roberta Nell Finch

Roberta DeBrular Finch, 99, passed, Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Wyngate Assisted Living.
She was born December 3, 1924, in Toll Gate, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Porter DeBrular and Josephine Mae Gribble DeBrular.
Roberta graduated from Pennsboro High School with the class of 1942. She went to Washington D.C. in August of 1942 and worked for the government at the Pentagon. On April 13, 1943, she met Pvt. James Harvey Finch, they were married in Washington D.C. on December 18, 1943. Roberta and her husband lived in Patterson, NJ. until 1986, when they both retired and returned to Toll Gate, WV. In 1996, the couple moved to Parkersburg. She was a member of the Parkview United Methodist Church in Parkersburg.
She is survived by two sons, James T. Finch of Hawthorne, NJ and Robert J. Finch of Milton, DE; six grandchildren, Bobby, Scott, Kyle, Joey, Adam, and Spencer; five great-grandchildren, Tommy, Danny, Joey, Aiden, and Sophia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Finch, June 9, 2000; and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg with Pastor Tim Valentine officiating. Burial will follow I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Harrisville, WV beside her husband. Visitation will be from 12 pm until the service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
