Robert Davis Wilcox, 72, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed away on December 25, 2010 at his residence.He was born July 23, 1938, in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Clem and Ivy Pearl Miller Wilcox.Robert retired after 42 years of service from Corning Glass. He loved serving God, spending time with his family and many friends, and camping and fishing in the West Virginia Mountains. He also enjoyed farming and hunting and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Pettyville United Methodist Church where he had served as youth counselor and Sunday school teacher.He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Deskins Wilcox; one daughter, Ann C. Wilcox of Washington, W.Va.; three sons, Robert D. (Angie) Wilcox of Slate, W.Va., Paul Douglas (Tonya) Wilcox of Washington, and John D. Wilcox of Millwood, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Timothy Dalton Wilcox and Kathrine Dawn Wilcox, both of Washington; two brothers, C. Dale (Sherry) Wilcox of Mineral Wells and Paul David (Nancy) Wilcox of Parkersburg; and his cat, Molly.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Wilcox.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 1:00 p.m. at Pettyville United Methodist Church with Pastor Philip P. Prunty officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg and one hour prior to the service at the church.
