Robert William Smith

Robert William “Bob Bill” Smith, age 56 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Marietta MemorialHospital.He was born March 30, 1957 in Wood Co., W.Va., a son of the late Clarence P. and Bettie F. Hamilton Smith. Robert had worked at the Parkersburg Newspaper, enjoyed Civil War history, loved Sponge Bob, loved their mimosa tree, enjoyed cars and watching the river boats. He attended the Rosemar Road Church of Christ.He is survived by his wife of nine years, Jennifer Lowers Smith; five sisters and brothers, Charlotte Barker (Jack) of Williamstown, W.Va., Linda Ruddlesden and David Smith (Sandie) all of Parkersburg, W.Va., Richard Smith of Fredericksburg, Va. and Deborah McCoy (Thomas) of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; his mother-in-law, Deloris Lowers (Steve) of Cutler, OH., a sister- in- law, Mary Dooley (Brandon) of Dallison, W.Va.; many nieces and nephews; and his pet dogs Mattie, Rocky and Coco.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Life Ambulance, Dr. Palmer, and Dr. Tahbaz for their love, kindness, and support given to Bob.Funeral services will be held 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
