Robert D. Valentine, 80, of Vienna, W.Va. went peacefully to be with our Lord on March 22, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center.He was born May 28, 1933, in Wood County, W.Va., a son to the late Earnest and LethaDeemValentine.Bob was a Navy veteran. He served during the Korean War. His naval ranking was P.O. 3rd Class and he served on the Naval Ships USS503 LST, USS1163 LST, USS APA239. He served in the Navy from 1952 to 1956. Bob retired from Consolidated Freightways trucking company.Bob found the Lord May 17th, 1981. Bob was a charter member of the Independent Baptist Church of Vienna W.Va.He is survived by his wife, Betty (Campbell) Valentine of 58 years; son, Mike and Connie Valentine of Belpre, OH; daughter, Marchell and Chip Allman of Parkersburg, W.Va.; daughter, Malinda and Mark Hoce of Parkersburg, W.Va.;son, Mark and Mary Valentine of Ostrander, OH; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and brother, Richard and Shirley Valentine of S. Parkersburg, W.Va.In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2014., 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lambert Tatman, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with Bob's nephew, Pastor Leon Valentine officiating along with Pastor Bob May and Pastor Mike “The Sheriff” Elder. Burial will follow at Reed-Fairview Memory Gardens off of Rt 339 in Belpre, OH. Military rites will be performed by the American Legion Post #15 of Pakersburg.
