Rymer, of Marietta, OH passed away November 2, 2010, at the Marietta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle with Parkinsons Disease.Born in Harrisville, W.Va., he was the son of the late Hosea Ralph Rymer and Elinor Lucile Mohney Rymer and the grandson of the late Hosea M. Rymer, MD and Addie Flanagan Rymer.Robert graduated from Harrisville High School and West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va. He was a member of the Alpha Zeta Fraternity and Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Europe during World War II. He retired from Union Carbide after 30 years and later from BP/Amoco. After retirement he enjoyed gardening, creating Christmas yard decorations as a hobby, and traveling.He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Phyllis Ann Rymer; sons, John (Cheryl) Rymer, of Harrisville, W.Va., and Daniel (Janice) Rymer, of Durango, Colorado; a daughter Janice (Eddie) Powell, of Danville, Virginia; sisters, Betty Fankhouser, of Bound Brooke, New Jersey and Patricia Moore, Bridgeport, W.Va.; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.Robert was predeceased by his former wife, Eva Mae Kern Rymer, the mother of their three children; his brother, Ralph M. Rymer, DDS; one grandchild, April Powell, and one great-grandchild, Elizabeth Powell.The family will honor his wishes to be cremated. Private services will be held at a later date. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Park, Marietta, OH.
