Robert Lee “Bob” Drake passed away on February 8, 2017, at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born July 19, 1942, in Left Hand, WV to the late Ralph Howard and Ottis Vieva Ledsome Drake. Before marrying his wife Margie in 1967, Bob served his country in the United States Army, Infantry Division, and was stationed in Berlin, Germany. After working for Johns Manville for 31 years, he retired and enjoyed wood working, and making things for his family, including ink pens that he freely gave away. He also loved restoring old Mustangs and his ’55 Chevy. Bob was a Baptist by faith, and loved his family very much. He lived for them and will be so missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Margie Crihfield Drake; two daughters, Misti McCullough (Gary) of Vincent, OH, and Traci Boykin (Jason) of Fairfax Station, VA; two grandchildren, Noah and Eva Boykin; brothers Paul, Junior, Roy, Roger; sister, Norma Nichols; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Robert Christopher, brother Coy Drake, and half-sisters Betty Bradley and Wanda Lee Truman. There will be no visitation, however, graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Rockland Cemetery, Belpre, Ohio, with Pastor David Kaufman officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #15 of Parkersburg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s name to the American Cancer Society.
