Robert (Bob) Allen Gandee Sr., age 76 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away June 24, 2016. He was born on January 14, 1940 in Walton, W.Va. He was the son of the late Alfred Guy and Martha Evelyn (Lowe) Gandee. He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School class of 1957 and later served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, Platoon 190 Parris Island, S.C. Robert retired from Ironworkers Local 787 after 34 years of service and was an avid farmer and member of the Wood County Farm Bureau. Surviving Robert is his wife of 58 years, Glenna I. (Benson) Gandee; his children, Brenda Wynn Trembly (Andy), Robert Allen Gandee, Jr. (Linda), and William Alfred Gandee (Kitty), all of Parkersburg; eight grandchildren, Lacey Smith (Mark), Christina Twohig (Donald), Linsey Burns (Daniel), Morgan Miller (Doug), Michael Trembly, Addison Gandee, Lora Gilmore (David), and Benjamin Gandee; and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, JoAnn (Gandee) Smith and several nieces and nephews. He had two very special nurses that were like members of his family and dearly loved, Amy Jones and Anita Rose of Amedisys Hospice Care of Parkersburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles E. “Buddy” Gandee; two sisters, Mary Alice Gandee and Hazel M. Batton; and stepmother, Carrie Gandee. At his request there will be no memorial service, he has donated his body to West Virginia University in Morgantown. There will be a remembrance of life on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg.
