Robert C. Duckworth, 76, of Mineral Wells, passed on to his heavenly father on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2019, at Camden Clark Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born September 25, 1943 in Parkersburg, WV, the son of the late Clyde and Virginia O’Dell Duckworth. He served two years in the U.S. Marine Corps, transferring to the U.S. Air Force for six and a half years. One of his greatest privileges was standing honor guard for President Kennedy. While stationed in France at the Nato headquarters and after its closing being one of the nine left to guard there at the discretion of the Pentagon, his last station was Avano, Italy. Coming home he worked at the F.M.C. Viscose plant and retired from Eramet in 2005. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Linda Giffin Duckworth; sons, Robert C. Duckworth II of Vienna, and George U. Duckworth of Mineral Wells; daughter, Robin Morris (Daniel) of Mineral Wells; two grand-daughters, Brittany Ste Marie (John) of Mineral Wells and Sarah Morris and Fiance ( Sidney) of Little Hocking; two sisters, Mary Crum (Ed), Betty Rebrook (Dale); two brothers, Joe Duckworth (Patricia) and John Duckworth (Kristi). In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Crum. We the family give glory to God for giving us a loyal and wise and loving, husband, father, grandfather and brother. As per his request there will be no service or visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
