Robert "Danny" Daniel Windland

Robert Daniel “Danny” Windland Jr., 56, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed away on April 23, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.He was born November 28, 1958, in Wood County, W.Va., a son of Dan Windland of Parkersburg and the late Sharon Nesselrode Windland.Danny was a 1977 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and a conductor for the CSX Railroad. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Danny was not one to sit around, he was always on the go doing something.In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Julie E. Bleigh Windland; two daughters, Sadie Windland (Ben Ward) and Hannah Haddad (Justin), both of Mineral Wells; three sons, Ryan Windland (Paige) of Lubeck, W.Va., Zachary Windland (Tarah Gerlach) and Shane Windland, both of Mineral Wells; Ben Fouse, who was like a son to him, of Mineral Wells; two sisters, Brenda Windland of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Becky Grady (Ernie) of Chesterhill, Ohio; two brothers, David Windland (Teresa) of Parkersburg and Tim Windland (Tesa) of Mineral Wells; seven grandchildren, Sidney, Jason, Annalynn, Luke, Lakin, Charlee and Cooper; his aunt, Linda Elschlager (Perry) of Mineral Wells; several other aunts and uncles; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Vada and John Nesselrode; and his paternal grandparents, Anna and Ercill Windland.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., South Parkersburg with Pastor Mark Houser officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.Memorial donations may be made to Lubeck Community Baptist Church, 154 Homewood Rd., Parkersburg, WV26101 or Erickson All-Sport Facility, PO Box 3750, Parkersburg, WV26103.The family would like to thank Dr. Roberts, Dr. Kyathari, Dr. Nik Shah, Dr. Kelil and Dr. Qureshi, and the Oncology nursing staff of Camden Clark Medical Center for their excellent care of Danny.
