Robert Clyde Collins 95, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013 at his residence and is now in Heaven with his beloved wife and other family members.He was born February 11, 1918 in Wood County, W.Va., the son of the late Clyde and Agra Mae Wade Collins. Robert was retired after 43 years of service from Rig and Reel / Walker Parkersburg where he was a machinist. He was a member of the Machinist Union, on the Board of Recreations as a referee, and a member of the Beechwood Presbyterian Church, Parkersburg since 1956. Robert enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and digging yellow root and was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. The greatest gift ever given to him was his salvation and faith in Jesus Christ.Robert is survived by his daughter, Linda Terrell of Parkersburg, W.Va.; his son, Robert Carl Collins and his wife, Toni of the Philippines; two grandchildren, Tamma Ruth and her husband, Leo of Washington, DC, and Chad Terrell and his wife, Tresha of Ashland City, Tenn.; six great-grandchildren, Leo “Trey” Ruth III, Kaylee Ruth, Whitney Renee Potts, Landis Terrell, Hunter Terrell, and Chad Terrell, Jr.; a cousin, Wanda Wade of Smyrna, Tenn.; a niece who he helped raise, Susan Clayton of Cedar Hill, TX; and his “other” daughter, Charlene Ketterman of Deerwalk, W.Va.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Mary K. Collins in 1998. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Beechwood Presbyterian Church with Pastor Rick Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg and one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church.The family request that memorials be made to the Sanctuary House at Beechwood Presbyterian Church, 703 30th Street, Parkersburg, WV. 26101 in Robert's memory.
