Robert "Shane" Burke,

Robert “Shane” Burke, Jr., 60 went to be with his Heavenly Father on October 23, 2014, after an illness with cancer, at the Ohio State University Hospital.He was born August 28, 1954 in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late Robert and Gloria Burke. He was a devoted spouse and a loving father of six “furry” children, an avid gardener, fisherman, golfer and lover of life.He is survived by his common law wife of 33 years, Vanora “Sam” Sams; two brothers, Victor (Brenda) and James (Beverly) Burke; one sister, Jill Burke, and many cousins and nephews.The family wants to send a heartfelt thank you to friends, family and the staff of CCMC ICU and OSU ICU for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg with Pastor Ed Beatty officiating.Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
